A cryptocurrency exchange platform is a website that enables users to buy, sell, or trade cryptocurrencies using fiat currencies such as the Canadian dollar, U.S. dollar, euro, or other cryptocurrencies. There are three main types of exchange platforms:

Peer-to-peer (P2P): Exchanges take place directly between the involved parties, with no fixed price dictated by the market. Transaction terms are negotiated between the buyer and the seller.

Brokers: On these platforms, prices are set by the broker for the purchase or sale of digital currencies. Examples of brokers include Coinbase, Crypto.com, and Shakepay.

Trading Platforms: These platforms operate based on market supply and demand. Users can buy or sell cryptocurrencies based on market conditions, and the platform charges fees for each transaction. Examples of trading platforms include Kraken, Gate.io, Binance, Bitget, and Kucoin.

It is important to note that some trading platforms only allow the exchange between different cryptocurrencies, with no option for the use of fiat currencies.
